Stephanie Doe Director

Stephanie Doe is currently a joint student studying BA (Hons) English and Drama  at the University of Lincoln and is continuing her studies at Lincoln next year beginning a Masters in English Studies.She has previously directed Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus in 2011 and King Lear in 2012. She has a strong research interest in Jacques Derrida and has applied him to both subjects of her degree, one being a contemporary installation piece and the other a Dissertation of his effect on the literary canon.  Stephanie is Director of Progeny Theatre’s A Gothic Tale and can often be found printing excessively in her local library.

 

Jamie Barber Producer

Jamie Barber is a chipper yet stubborn student currently working towards a degree in Film, Television and Drama at the University of Lincoln.

He has previously played Teiresias in Antigone, Silvius in As You Like It, Sebastian in Twelfth Night and is regularly cast as a tree (he should perhaps take the hint). He has also directed scenes from Terrorism, The Seagull, Grimm Tales, The Crucible and Antigone (he seems to do better with directing). He recently submitted his first academic article to be considered for publication.

Jamie is the Producer of Progeny Theatre Company and eats gargantuan portions of food creating the illusion that he is clinically obese. This is of course not true and is in fact a trick of the light.

Kate Dawson Production Manager

Kate Dawson is an aspiring Stage Manager who is currently studying BA (Hons) Drama at the University of Lincoln.

Her most recent production role was as Deputy Stage Manager for a touring  production of Habeas Corpus, which played both in Lincoln and Louth. She is an experienced amateur performer and had the great honour of taking up her first professional role in The Lincoln Company’s The Wizard of Oz in December 2012.

Kate is Production Manager for Progeny Theatre Company and also enjoys building bears at Build-A-Bear Workshop in Meadowhall.

Robert Bull is currently in his last month at the University of Lincoln studying Drama. He is scheduled to move to Edinburgh in September to develop his skills within the technical side of theatre. He is hoping to be involved in the technical side of all types of productions from theatre shows, to music festivals. Rob studied Performing Arts at Doncaster College until he was 18 when he then had a 5 year gap before returning to education at the University. Over the 3 years Rob enjoyed working backstage and scriptwriting, so therefore took the opportunity to be part of the writing process and work backstage on the show. These key roles suit Rob’s style of working as he has a very imaginative mind and also is efficient at producing work.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys playing and watching Football. He is a massive Sheffield Wednesday fan and can often be heard shouting at them. He also enjoys being active, trying new things and travelling. He loves to socialise with his friends when ever possible.

Jessica Smith currently studies drama at the University of Lincoln.

Although she enjoys all aspects of drama, she did not only want to act in this module. She has previously studied Business and Marketing and realised that she enjoyed the fact that it allowed her to show creativity and passion about the product being promoted. Due to this reason she decided that she wanted to be involved in marketing. The role in this theatre company suited her attributes as she is very passionate about Progeny Theatre Company.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and taking lots pictures of different things.

 

Francesca Simeoli Actor, Finance

Francesca Simeoli  is currently in her last month studying Drama at the University of Lincoln.

She has always had a keen interest in theatre, especially the acting side. She has acted in several plays over the years, including Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, We Will Rock You, The Pillowman and Crave. She takes one of the main roles in Progeny’s production of A Gothic Tale as well as leading the finance side of the company.

In her spare time, Francesca works as a Student Ambassador. She can usually be found giving campus tours to visitors around Lincoln. If you have a question about the university, she can probably answer it!

 

Alex Urbanczyk
Stage Manager

 

Alex Urbanczyk is currently studying BA (Hons) Drama at the University of Lincoln.

She has always been interested in the technical side of theatre, previously being Stage Manager for Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew in 2011 and Deputy Stage Manager for a touring production of John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger in both Lincoln and Louth in 2012. She has passion for creating and maintaining ‘The Book’ and enjoys buying post-it notes and coloured pens.

Alex is Stage Manager for Progeny Theatre Company and is usually found grabbing a quick bite to eat between meetings, rehearsals and working at a bar in North Hykeham.

Hannah Smith is currently studying  BA (Hons) Drama at the University of Lincoln.

Hannah undertakes three roles within Progeny Theatre Company and has experience in all three categories. She has played a variety of acting roles from Hippolytus in Sarah Kane’s Pheadra’s Love to Hermia in Shakespeare’s A Midsummers Night’s Dream. She mostly enjoys performing in plays which make the audience feel shocked or uncomfortable. She has a passion for script writing and enjoys seeing her scripts come to life on stage. She will continue writing scripts in the future and hopes to take this talent further.

In her spare time Hannah enjoys voluntary work with a variety of different schools and youth groups and hopes to volunteer in a prison soon. She also enjoys spending ridiculous amounts of money on clothing and shoes.

 

 

Gary Richardson Actor & Sound and Lighting Designer

Gary Richardson has studied drama and the performing arts for seven years, and is currently studying the subject at the University of Lincoln.

He has recently played the roles of Ferdinand from Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Mark from Mark Ravenhill’s Shopping and Fucking. He is currently the sound and lighting designer for Progeny Theatre Company for their upcoming production of A Gothic Tale.

In his spare time Gary likes to play a copious amount of video games, and has recently applied to undertake a course in video game design and development once he has completed his University degree.

 

 

 

 

Ellie Richards is currently studying the joint honours degree of English and Drama at the University of Lincoln.

From a design an artistic background, Ellie has developed many set designs for theatrical productions, sketching, building, sourcing and painting both large scale sets, and designs for studio settings.

As an experienced portrait painter who has painted commissions during her A-level studies, Ellie has transferred her skills into the genre of Trompe-l’œil painting, where she is able to create the appearance of 3D images for stage. With a keen interest in all technical aspects of theatre, she has volunteered as a scenic artist in a local theatre production, and would like to continue doing this.

In her spare time she enjoys listening to music, playing piano, singing and learning her favourite songs. She has keen interests in property and cars, and loves to follow fashion trends, enjoying clothes and shoe shopping.

 

Lewis Chanel Actor & Scriptwriter

Lewis Chanel is currently a third year drama student, studying at the University of Lincoln.

Always one to try any role, in recent years has performed as the Tinman in Wizard of Oz, King Leontes in A Winters Tale, Prospero in the Tempest, Orin in Little shop of Horrors and Agamemnon in a part of the Tantalus Cycle. He is very interested in script writing and has wrote scripts before as well as numerous lyrics for songs. Most of the time Lewis Seems to get type cast as the villain and hopes for the day when he finally gets to be a good guy…he doesn’t see that happening any time soon though.

Lewis enjoys to sing, play games, hang out with his friends, listen to music so loud that he’s going deaf, perform stunts to test himself, chilling out and staring at space.

 

Kelsey Stirling Marketing & Actor

Kelsey Stirling is currently studying drama at the University of Lincoln.

She is a friendly and keen individual who enjoys playing an array of different characters. Progeny Theatre Company’s debut performance of a gothic tale has enabled her to unleash her wild side. She has previously acted in plays such as Berkoff’s The trial, Martin Crimp’s Attempts on her life and Cartwright’s Road. Despite her passion for acting she has also under taken the role of co marketing coordinator for Progeny Theatre Company. Being a creative type, this has enabled her to contribute more to the theatre company than just acting.

In her spare time Kelsey enjoys socialising with friends and drinking wine. You will often find her galloping through fields with horses. She is a down to earth person who is easy to get along with as long as you are not the cause of her early morning wake ups.
